Use Pickly in Claude
Ask Claude to set up a poll and get a link to share with your group, without leaving the chat. Later, ask how the vote is going. It's free, and nobody needs an account.
Add Pickly to Claude
- In Claude, on the web or in the desktop app, open Customize, then Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector, name it Pickly, and paste this URL:
https://usepickly.com/mcpSave it, and you're done. There's nothing to sign in to. In a new chat, ask for a poll and Claude will use Pickly.
Claude says it couldn't check the server, or asks about signing in? See the questions below.
In Claude Code
Run this in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http pickly https://usepickly.com/mcpChatGPT and other AI assistants
Pickly is an MCP server, the open standard Claude uses for connectors. Any assistant that can connect to a remote MCP server can use the same URL.
In ChatGPT, open Plugins, choose + and then Add custom MCP server, and enter the URL above as a public endpoint with no authentication. In a chat, type @ and pick Pickly.
Things to ask
- “Make a poll for Friday dinner: Thai, pizza or sushi. Close it tomorrow at noon.”
- “Which of the next three Saturdays can everyone make? Set up a poll.”
- “Let the team rank these five names for the project.”
- “How's the dinner poll going?”
What Claude can do with Pickly
- Make a poll with names, dates, times or places as options, and any voting style: pick several, ranked, score, swipe, or who can make it.
- Check the results of a poll from its link: who's ahead, by how much, and whether voting has closed.
Polls made in a chat can't have pictures or passwords, can't be changed afterwards and don't show up under My polls. For any of that, make the poll on Pickly instead.
Questions
- Claude says it “Couldn’t check the server” or that the server asked for sign-in.
- Check that the URL is exactly the one above, then remove the connector and add it again. If the warning stays, choose Continue anyway: Pickly works without signing in.
- Claude asks how to sign in. What do I pick?
- Nothing to sign in to: choose no authentication (or None) wherever it asks, and keep the URL as it is.
- It asks for an OAuth client ID, client secret, API key or token.
- Leave all of them empty. Pickly doesn't use any, so there's nothing to fill in.
- I added it, but Claude doesn't use Pickly.
- Start a new chat and check that Pickly is turned on under the + menu, in Connectors. Asking “make a poll with Pickly” helps too.
- Does it cost anything, or do my voters need Claude?
- No. The connector is free, and people vote from the link in any browser, without an account.
Privacy
Claude sends Pickly only what the poll needs: the question, the options and when it closes. Pickly never sees the rest of your chat. Anyone with the poll's link can see it, the same as any other poll. The privacy policy has the details.
